Pamperings

I wanna go for a holiday, to stay in a luxurious water villa to pamper myself and my senses.

I wanna get a luxurious and extravagant watch which will probably take up more than a month's pay.

I wanna get diamond earrings, which will glitter from afar.

I wanna buy a new car, one that suits my own taste and zips around town with style.

I wanna get a property which is designed and furnished to the exact way I want it to be.

But right now, I want you to come back and be by my side.

State of the World

I have been a great fan of cable channels 10, 11 and 12, Animal Planet, Nat Geo and Discovery. Between one of the latter two, I have always been unable to catch the beginning sections of this documentary called "Rwanda". Always only managing to catch snippets of the end, this documentary has been just another "oh ya, if I get the chance to watch the full docu, whenever" program. However, one fateful day, I managed to catch the full one hour episode, and good grief, it was an awakening.

Some basic background to the Rwanda genocide, that's the bare minimal I can manage anyway. In 1994, when I was 12. Damn, I was more than able to read and write, and understand matters of the world, what was I doing then?? Anyway, in 1994, in Rwanda, a small republic in Africa, yes, it's a country, a massive genocide went on. According to the documentary, more than 800,000 were killed in just a mere 100 days. Unbelieveable. It's like ethnic cleansing, like KKK. One fine day, the Hutu clan decided that that they couldn't stand being in the same breathing space as the Tutsi clan. So alright then! What best way to go then to just kill all of them!

Imagine, 2 families, being neighbours for ten over years, children growing up together, turn around and start chopping up your soccer playing buddy and dumping their remains in the river. Well, this was the exact same scenario that the documentary portrayed. And they interviewed the sole survivor and the murderer TOGETHER. Yes, you are absolutely right. Now, no one is being charged for murder, and everyone is trying to live in peace and harmony. This is what we should really call, sleeping and living with the enemy.

No one was spared, children, women. No one. Basically if you are a Tutsi, you have no other way out. And if you are a Hutu, if you don't kill, you will be killed. Apparently about 50,000 of those killed were Hutus who refused to join the crowd. All over the radio waves, were perpetuators of the crimes, hypnotising the Hutus to execute. UN took eons of years to step in. And there was a batch of US Army on duty, and when they took the initiative to step in to stop the killings when it was first initiated, they was reprimanded and called back to the states, for acting without orders. Well done.

The atrocities are inhumane. Just try to search for the program and sit through it.

Now, we have another current situation. It's happening in Darfur. Not as massive as killings and all, but estimated death toll about 400,000. Mostly from starvation. But also genocide. You can check out this website for more details. http://www.savedarfur.org

I don't wanna gross you out, but this pic is to show you peeps how bad it was.

My apologies for the heavy entry, but I had to voice it out, if not I will suffocate. If you guys are free, you could check out on Pol Pot, one of the most inhumane torturers to ever lived. Coincidentally, I watched a program called "Pol Pot's Poison". Check it out too if you can. That's all folks.....

You can't have it all

God is fair. Or at least he tries to balance the happiness with the sadness. Or he thinks that I have way too much, and I shouldn't be too happy? I really have no idea what he is thinking.

In my case, one door opens, and another closes... why can't I have 2 open doors?

Back and A New Year ahead

I am back! 3 weeks flew by in a flash. I thought the entire trip was a tad too long, but this thought didn’t last too long into my working d...
